About the office visits and masterclasses
"Twenty students from civil-law student association Diephuis in Groningen recently visited DVDW Advocaten in Rotterdam to attend the Liability Law Masterclass.
Disciplinary Law and Civil Liability Law were the topics of the day. A very instructive afternoon ended with drinks, where we had the chance to meet the firm in an informal setting. Thank you very much for your hospitality and a wonderful afternoon!”

"During the masterclass on Pleading in Interlocutory Proceedings, I came to recognise the typically Rotterdam qualities of DVDW: not just addressing the client’s issues in a pragmatic and professional manner, but in fact providing a practical solution. The masterclass painted a realistic picture of the practical side of interlocutory proceedings, including tips and tricks that will be very useful for students who want to pursue a career in the law. It was a very instructive day!"
"The Corporate Law Society of Utrecht law student club JSVU recently visited DVDW Advocaten in The Hague. The topic for the day was bankruptcy law. We shared a delicious lunch with some of the firm’s people, getting to know them in a casual setting. Next, we dove into the subject matter: we were quizzed about what we knew about bankruptcy law, and the gaps in our knowledge were filled. We then split into two teams to work on a case, to see who would find the best solution. We had to choose the best bid for a bankrupt company. After the teams had presented their answers and explained their reasoning, the day ended with drinks, where the students could ask the firm’s lawyers whatever questions they still had. All in all, it was a very instructive and enjoyable day, and one that’s worth doing again!”

"Last September, DVDW Advocaten invited us to the 27th and 28th floors of the Millennium Tower in Rotterdam. We joined a few of the firm’s lawyers for a bite to eat, and there and then they challenged us to a game of table football over drinks later on. First, though, we spent an hour and a half learning about non-competition clauses – including a sidebar about the challenges that social media can cause between employers and employees – with plenty of opportunity for interaction. The day ended with drinks with the firm’s employees. And even though we were mercilessly beaten at table football, we had a wonderful time. Thank you, DVDW Advocaten!”

"The Employment Law Masterclass on non-competition clauses, led by DVDW’s passionate and young team of employment lawyers, was most enlightening and interactive. It was also a pleasant way for us to get to know this modern and likable firm!"

“Thirty students from the highly accredited Master’s degree programme in Employment Law were challenged at a high level with appealing legal cases presented by a passionate team of employment lawyers. A great atmosphere, good interaction with the students and something to look forward to again next year. In a word: wonderful!"
